Your best rounds start on paper.

A system that turns your handwritten notes into powerful data. Stay in the round, leave the phone in the bag, and play the shot in front of you — then let the app surface the patterns quietly costing you strokes, so you can finally know your game.

The real fix

You don't need a new driver. You need to start tracking.

Most golfers can't say where their strokes really go. They blame the swing, or the putter, when the numbers almost always point somewhere quieter — the approach shots that keep coming up short, the par 5s they never capitalize on. You can't fix what you've never actually measured.

The fix isn't more data. Your watch and launch monitor already produce plenty. The fix is a habit simple enough to keep — and a way to turn those small, honest notes into something you can actually see.

How it works

Track. Analyze. Improve.

Phase 01 — On the course

Track by hand. Stay in the round.

The journal is built for the pace of a round. Fast fields for the shots that matter — approach club, first-putt distance, total putts, fairways and greens — plus plot maps to chart exactly where your tee shots and approach shots finish. Every round is bookended by a pre-round plan and a post-round reflection.

  • Fast fields: approach club, first-putt distance, total putts, fairways & greens, and quick notes
  • Plot maps to chart where your tee shots and approach shots actually finish
  • Pre-round plans and post-round reflections to bookend every round

Phase 02 — After the round

Scan and sync your pages in seconds.

Open the Journal 18 app and scan your round entry. The app digitizes your handwriting in seconds and turns it into trending stats, heat maps of the shots you hit, and personalized insights on how to lower your scores.

  • Scan multiple pages per round — the app builds your full entry
  • Heat maps of your tee shots and approaches, drawn from your plot maps
  • Personalized insights that point to where to practice next

Phase 03 — Over the season

The app turns your rounds into trending data — how your scores are progressing, where your miss tendencies are, and personalized insights to help you lower them, with dedicated breakdowns for your drives, approaches and scoring.

  • Trends that show how your scores are progressing over time
  • Your miss tendencies across drives, approaches and scoring
  • Personalized insights on exactly where to lower your scores

What's inside

Structured prompts to unlock your best golf.

The Track Pad Pro is built in two halves: a premium cover designed to live in your bag for years, and a replaceable inner pad that's the real engine of the system.

  • 01

    Weatherproof cover

Premium synthetic leather with pockets for scorecards, business cards, credit cards and cash — plus an included divot tool.

  • 02

    220+ inner pages

The core of the system: round entries, practice logs, performance logs, shot plot maps, pre- and post-round reviews, benchmarks, mental tools, yardage tables and more.

  • 03

    Erasable stone paper

Write with the included thermal erasable pen, then wipe a page clean with a damp cloth and reuse it, round after round.

  • 04

    Or swap in refills

Prefer a fresh pad over erasing? Replacement inner pads drop straight into the cover.

Writing it by hand is what makes it stick.

The case for analog first
Why by hand

The slow way is the reason it works.

Typing is fast, which is exactly the problem — it's easy to do without thinking. Writing by hand is slower and more deliberate, and that friction forces a small moment of reflection on each shot. Research on note-taking has long found that handwriting supports better recall and understanding than typing, because you have to process and summarize rather than transcribe.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Do I have to use the app?
Not at all. The journal stands completely on its own as a beautifully structured place to log your golf. The app is there when you want your notes turned into searchable data and season-long trends — but plenty of people just love the paper.
Can I just use the app and not get the journal?
Yes — you definitely can. The app was designed to complement the journal, but there's an option to choose manual entry in the app and simply journal your rounds through your phone.
How does the handwriting scanning work?
Open the Journal 18 app, photograph a completed page, and it reads your round using handwriting recognition tuned to the journal's layout. You get a chance to review and correct anything before it saves, so your logbook stays accurate.
Which phones does the app support?
The app is available on iPhone through the App Store. It's not on Android just yet — an Android version is in the works.
What if it's not for me?
Play a few rounds with it. If it's not for you, send it back within 30 days for a full refund.
